Yosuke called me a "perv" when he saw me staring at a photo of some half naked dude on abercrombie website. I told him that I was doing research. hahaha. Seriously, it helped me quite a bit for this shoot. In this case, the end really did justify the means. This couple is ridiculously good looking.
I love shooting everything fairly backlit. As previous clients have noticed, shoot time is always an hour or so before sunset (4pm-5pm). The light at this time is softer, broader, and it gives a warmer feel, which makes the skin look gradient. :D
I am a huge fan of negative space even though I don't use this technique very often, because what I want is not necessary the same as what the clients want. Most clients seem to like the tighter crop. The grass (dead) in the shot right below creates a space that adds texture and actually makes your eye focus more on the subjects and their expressions.
There was never a dull moment. The family members and the guests were dancing for six hours straight! :D Most of the shots from the night were taken with my wide angle lens (one of my favorite lenses). By capturing the activities at such angle, I get a portrait, but also the beauty of the background shot, creating photos that feel more artistic.
